In which we Visit Typhhon Lagoon

Despite going to sleep at 8pm last night, I slept right through till 7 again. Disney really are tiring me out. Today would be a more relaxing day with a visit to Typhoon Lagoon, a water park, and it doesn’t open till 10am! We used one quick service credit for the exact same breakfast as we had yesterday before suncreaming heavily and setting off. Very sadly there were no photopass people at Typhoon Lagoon, so these are all our own work. I did have a waterproof cover for my phone which I used, but I put it in the locker for the slides.

Arriving at Typhoon Lagoon

We’re ready for fun

First, the Lazy River

Note my chair like float, much easier to get in and out

Vicky agreed

Going under a waterfall

And coming out again

Next, the wave pool

Note Vicky’s face

Blue slushy and Funnel Cake. The funnel cake was a snack credit and cost $10, our most expensive so far

Relaxing back at Port Orleans, French Quarter

Some Hotel residents

A Trip on the Boat

To the other half of our Hotel, Port Orleans Riverside

Then out to Coronado Springs hotel, another moderate

To Toledo restaurant, which has a Michelin star, still on the dining plan though!

Very posh food, but very nice

See!

We even managed posh pudding

Then back to our own hotel for a nightcap in the bar, Scat Cats

Notable Events

We were ready! Vicky was carrying nothing but her genius. Sadly Typhoon Lagoon has no security. She did have trouble getting in though (of course she did). You need a magic band and a fingerprint, and hers wouldn’t work at first, she needed a few goes.

We rented a locker and just kept going back to it. Then had a fab time on the slides and pools with virtually no queues. It was a little cloudy so not so hot, which suited us down to the ground.

Getting into my rubber ring at the top of one slide I sat on the edge all wrong and went head over heels into the water before I had departed the loading bay, and in front of the rest of the waiting queue. The twelve year old lifeguard was most concerned!

We can use all the facilities of Riverside if we wish. We walked back along the river and it takes about ten minutes. It was pouring with rain at the time. It’s much bigger than French Quarter.

Coronado Springs is a huge hotel with loads of bus stops. The restaurant is at the top of the Grand Destino tower and you can see all the parks in the distance. They gave us a window table which was nice. The ceiling keeps changing colour. It was incredibly noisy though and I had trouble hearing what anyone was saying.

Disney cocktails are really strong.
